Information systems used at higher education institution support essentially academic management processes. But these systems do not permit the monitoring, evaluation and support of student activities. To obtain knowledge about the students and their needs, student relationship management system (SRM) as a subset of customer relationship management system was introduced and implemented in the higher education system. This knowledge may be adopting appropriate and effective measures in order to follow closely the activities of students.
Ontology is a formal conceptualization of an optimal range between heterogeneous applications is shared. Ontology consists of entities, attributes, relationships and principles of the subject and provides a common understanding of the real world. In fact, ontology helps people and machines to contact conceptually using semantically information interchange instead of common syntactical interchange.
In general, the goal of this research is to implement the concepts of student relationship management system using semantic technologies and our aim is to develop a technological tool that supports higher education institutions in the acquisition of knowledge. That is essential for the process of decision-making.
