Abstract: This paper modifies parameter identification of singular systems with the aid of transformation of singular system to a new Strong equivalent counterpart. Initial conditions in singular systems produce mismatch in time response which may cause singularity problems for identification process. In order to reduce initial conditions effect in such systems, traditional reduction methods used before with low accuracy. In this paper, primarily a more accurate equivalency transformation of singular systems called Strong equivalency is performed. In the second step an identification procedure is modified into a Recursive Least Square technique. In fact the recursive parameter identification algorithm is implemented on the Strong equivalent singular model. This combination of the strong equivalency together with the identification procedure is used for the first time. The new configuration improves not only the estimation error convergence, but also the output tracking. Performance of the Strong equivalency and also its combination with the identification process is illustrated in apractical singular electric network
